Presently i find little time to play consoles, my Xbox is gathering dust and i have not brought a game for over a year. The microsite for the PS3 game “HAZE” a first-person shooter, has reignited a flame in my heart for gaming. The website not only looks visually amazing but is a online game in its own right. The combination of powerful visuals and mind blowing sound made my heart pulsate. Like all good websites i found myself losing all perspective of time, not noticing a crowd of work colleges looking over my shoulder as i explored the site.

If the British weather continues in the same mood, i think i could be tempted to splash the cash and find my inner gamer again.

Miami’s giant foam party! No, it’s not the Gay Winter Festival.

They’ve already dropped tons of colorful bouncing balls in the streets of San Francisco, transformed a building in Glascow into a rainbow with the help of thousands of liters of paint, invaded New York City with huge Play-Doh bunnies, covered the Great Pyramids with multi-colored threads. What could be bigger than these?

Sony and their ad agency Fallon London have been playing in Miami, drowning few blocs of the city under a huge layer of foam. 200 locals were wandering with the latest versions of the CyberShots and HandyCams, to prove that they really capture images “like no other”, foam being one of the hardest texture to render. The crowd-sourced images (how trendy) will be mixed with the professional footage in the yet unreleased finished commercial. Party like it’s 1996 at the Pacha Club in Ibiza!

We mentioned the 2 first Sony Bravia campaigns in the previous Trendwatch keynotes, mainly to talk about the buzz that they managed to create before even airing the commercials. There was the balls one, and then the paint one, both gorgeous and moving. Well, it seems that they’re doing it again right here, in NY, spreading bright rabbits made out of Play-Doh in the streets. They’re already using a wide array of web 2.0 tools to document the making-of the ad and have the blogosphere spread the word, just like i’m doing right now. There is obviously a website with RSS feed, someone from Sony UK is twitting live on-set about the whole preparation and shooting, and you can follow their flickr photostream. Anyone knows where the set location is?
