Hey there,

Let’s be honest, the way that Facebook Pages worked until recently made them pretty useless, being totally disconnected from the Facebook users’ activity. Except for those annoying Updates that we would never care to read.

But with last month redesign and the introduction of the Public Profiles updates in your NewsFeed, Facebook Public Profiles (the new name for Facebook Pages) gained a huge value. Brands and Celebrities news are now mixed with your friends’ updates; a bit like twitter, except with less spam!

So we decided to take advantage of this and finally create a page for The Trendwatch, so that, if you decide to Become a Fan of ours, links to our posts appear in your NewsFeed, the equivalent of a much friendlier version of an RSS feed. No need to go to thetrendwatch.com to check if we’ve published anything new, no more waiting for the daily summary by email: we’re showing up right where you hang out already!

To make sure that we appear in your Newsfeed, go to the very bottom of the Facebook homepage and click on Edit Options:

A modal window will appear offering you to pick which Friends and Public Profiles will be hidden in your NewsFeed to avoid information overload. Make sure that TheTrendwatch is not listed as hidden under Public Profiles:
