Did Dr Pepper keep their side of the deal?

Dr Pepper recently made the bold promise to give a free can of Dr Pepper to every person in America on the release of Guns N’ Roses new album ‘Chinese Democracy’. Only two people were deemed exempt: Slash and Buckethead, the Guns N’ Roses guitarists who parted acrimoniously with the band.

Dr Pepper probably weren’t too worried about fulfilling their promise as production on the album began in 1993. However the album was released last Sunday and Dr Pepper duly issued a voucher on their site.

But they didn’t manage to giveaway the 300 million cans promised. Their site crashed – perhaps something to do with the huge rush of traffic, not helped by the 24 hour time frame they set for everyone to get their voucher… And if that wasn’t bad enough now Axl’s mad!
