Kill the text message: Google Talk on the iPhone.

I hate instant messaging (I gave up a year ago, the “you-need-to-reply-in-the-next-20-seconds, no-excuse-available” attitude was giving me panic attacks) but I could change my mind thanks to made-for-the-iPhone version of Google Talk. Especially when you do the maths and realize how much we’re being ripped-off by cell-phone networks to send/receive text message: Crunchgear did the maths; if AT&T charged data downloads at the rate they charge text messages downloading 1MB of data would cost you an insulting $1,310.72.

Did you know that apparently if you download Star Wars via SMS it would cost you the same dmount of money as if you would produce the whole movie! :)
