I WISH I HAD DIRECTED THEM

I barely see any TV these days… there’s so much more interesting stuff online, and the quality of the content keeps getting better and better, thanks to streaming DivX for instance.

There is also top quality multimedia content available exclusively online… the 2 websites I present bellow are a perfect example of that.
I wish I had directed the movies and animations in them, but I just don’t have the skills and the talent. I don’t know how to film. I can’t draw. I can’t do Flash.

I’m a New Media Consultant and my game is communication strategies, numbers, Return-On-Investment… But I wish I could create beautiful things too.

What the heck… at least I have the sensibility to recognize good stuff when I see it and I’m the best at finding it.
I guess I’m somewhere in the Long Tail. But wait… doesn’t that make me a part of the creative process too? I have a role after all!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. I know I enjoyed sharing them with you.

Little Minx – Exquisite Corpse technique
Kollaps – Many animations by Russian Flash Artist extraordinaire Kol-Belov (watch out kids, some are quite disturbing).

You’d better get used to those sponsor-friendly messages in your video-games. With the success of the Wii and social games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Rayman Raving Rabbids (my personal favorite), US in-game advertising spending will increase from $295 million in 2007 to $650 million in 2012. Free web-based game will apparently get the biggest slice of the pie.

As reported by eMarketer and detailed in MediaWeek.
