
Personally, I always thought it would be such a terrible waste not to be able to have a “data warehouse” where you could store a copy of every single website that ever existed on the web - our digital collective consciousness and intelligence. Even really lame websites like this one should not be lost. And I might overdo it if I say it would be like having the Alexandria Library fire happening over and over again… (well… kind of…) but that’s how I feel about erasing information.
But fear not! Lucky for us information junkies we have The Wayback Machine at Archive.org, a digital time machine that keeps a record of our website’s evolution throughout the years, like this article’s featured image, where we can see, for instance, that Google somehow lost an exclamation mark along the way…
